The Division of Pain Medicine at Stanford University, within the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine, is seeking an outstanding Pain Medicine Specialist to join our team as a Clinical Instructor in the Clinician Educator Line. This position will play a critical role in addressing the growing demand for subspecialty pain care, with a focus on complex pain conditions, interventional treatments, and interdisciplinary pain management.
The major criterion for appointment as a Clinician Educator is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative responsibilities, and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Pain Management: Diagnose and treat a wide range of pain conditions, including musculoskeletal pain, neuropathic pain, and post-surgical pain syndromes.
- Interventional Procedures: Expertly perform interventional pain procedures, including nerve blocks, epidural steroid injections, radio frequency ablation, and spinal cord stimulation.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with a team of physicians, physical therapists, psychologists, and other specialists to provide integrated patient care.
- Education & Mentorship: Participate in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows in pain management techniques and patient-centered care.
- Research & Innovation: Engage in clinical research opportunities to advance pain medicine treatments and contribute to academic publications.
- Clinical Expansion: Support the expansion of pain management services at Redwood City and other affiliated sites to meet increasing patient demand.
Qualifications:
- MD with fellowship training in Pain Medicine.
- Board certification or eligibility in Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology, Neurology, or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

The expected base pay range for this position is $412,000--$414,000 annually.
This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
