The Department of Chemistry at Stanford University seeks applicants for a senior appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The search is open to applicants in all areas of experimental and theoretical chemistry. Applicants must have demonstrated a commitment to effective teaching and mentoring and the ability to maintain a world-class research program. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field and will be expected to teach and advise students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The term of appointment is expected to begin on September 1, 2027.

  • a cover letter

  • curriculum vitae (including a publication list)

  • a summary of their research program (no more than three single-spaced pages)

  • a teaching statement (no more than 1 single-spaced page) 

      

The salary range for this position is $159,907-$178,030 for the rank of Associate Professor and $188,500-$341,136 for the rank of Full Professor for the academic year 2026–2027.

 

Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position upon hire. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the qualifications of the selected candidate, budget availability, and internal equity.
