Stanford University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the field of Environmental Behavioral Sciences within the Department of Environmental Social Sciences. The scope of the search is broad, and we welcome applications from candidates involved in any aspect of the study of human ecology, human behavior, or human institutions as they pertain to sustainability, climate change, adaptation, or resilience. We welcome candidates who approach these questions through diverse research strategies—whether qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods—including formal and computational modeling, experimental and data-driven analyses, or field-based, systemic, and historical inquiries. Candidates must have a PhD or other terminal doctoral degree in a field relevant to the search, an excellent record of scholarly work, and a dedication to teaching and mentorship.
