The Department of Radiation Oncology at Stanford University is recruiting a Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs and Chief for the Division of Radiation Therapy to lead its clinical operations. We are seeking a candidate who combines proven leadership skills, an outstanding record of academic accomplishment, a dedication to excellence in research and education, and strong mentorship skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision and development of clinical activities for the Department at its main Stanford site, as well as its affiliated outreach sites.

The faculty position is at the Associate Professor or Professor level in the University Medical Line or the University Tenure Line. Candidates should currently be at the Associate Professor or Professor level, be board-certified in radiation oncology (or equivalent), and have medical licensure in California by the start date. Experience in a diverse range of therapeutic techniques, including external beam therapy, brachytherapy, SBRT and novel therapies is desirable.

Candidates should have experience in leading academic clinical operations and be accomplished investigators with a national reputation in radiation oncology. The successful candidate will report to the Chair of the Department and be expected to lead and provide oversight for the clinical activities of the Department, recruit and mentor clinical faculty and oversee clinical operations.

The major criterion for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, and scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. The predominant criterion for appointment in the University Tenure Line is a major commitment to research and teaching. Faculty rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
