Open Faculty Positions

The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University is seeking faculty in the Clinician Educator line at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank to join our newest expansion site in South Bay in Los Gatos.

• The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Academic rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The successful applicant should have a M.D., D.O., or M.D. (or D.O.)/Ph.D. and the typical candidate would be board certified in Pediatrics with subspecialty training in gastroenterology. We seek candidates who are committed to advancing Stanford Pediatric Gastroenterology's mission to heal children with digestive disease through innovation and Stanford Medicine Children's Health's commitment to extraordinary care, continual learning, and breakthrough discoveries.

We expect the successful candidate to participate in the care of and management of children with gastrointestinal disorders and to contribute to the education of diverse learners at the School of Medicine. Faculty will practice in a growing regional program while remaining fully integrated into the academic, educational, and research missions of Stanford Medicine, and the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology.

About the Stanford Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology

The Pediatric Gastroenterology Program at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital has grown dramatically over the last decade and now includes nearly 40 faculty. We strive to provide abundant resources for successful and comprehensive care, including nursing, nutrition, social work, and administrative support. We are privileged to be ranked in the top 10 by U.S. News and World Report. We are also home to a robust ACGME accredited fellowship program in pediatric gastroenterology, and we host advanced fellowships in liver transplant and IBD. The Division’s clinical program cares for more than 10,000 patients each year, making it among the largest volume in the country. The Stanford Pediatric Gastroenterology Division promotes the career development and scholarship of all faculty and is characterized by a culture of mutual respect and inclusion.

The expected base pay range for this position is:

Clinical Assistant Professor: $257,000 – $275,000

Clinical Associate Professor: $297,000 – $316,000

Clinical Professor: $353,000 – $391,000

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs. Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position upon hire. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including equivalent years in rank, training, and field or discipline; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
