Open Faculty Positions

The Department of Bioengineering at Stanford University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or untenured Associate Professor. We give high priority to the overall originality and promise of the candidate’s work, and aim to broaden the range of what bioengineering is and what it can do – from biomedical to biological engineering, as well as understanding and sustaining life on our planet. We therefore encourage applications from candidates across any discipline whose work contributes to the development, translation, and/or application of innovative concepts, tools, or methodologies in any aspect of bioengineering. Within the applicant's chosen area, we will be looking for exceptional contributions, or compelling evidence of potential to achieve them. Applicants must have completed, or be completing, a Ph.D. in the advertised field or a closely related one. They must also demonstrate the ability to pursue an independent research program. A successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels and to build and lead a team of graduate students in Ph.D. research. Ideal candidates should also demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills.

The expected base pay range for this position is:

Assistant Professor: $144,100- $163,766

Associate Professor (untenured): $158,510 - $196,803
