Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor of Anesthesiology, Perioperative & Pain Medicine – Clinician Scientist

The Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at Stanford University seeks applicants to join the Department as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in the University Medical Line. Successful candidates will both supervise robust research programs and oversee the clinical care of patients. In addition to generalists, the department welcomes well qualified applicants with interests in: Cardiac Anesthesia, Obstetric Anesthesia, Pediatric Anesthesia, Pain Management, Critical Care Medicine, Regional Anesthesia, and all areas of research related to anesthesiology.
- The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
Candidates must have an MD or DO, or foreign equivalent, be board-certified or eligible for certification, and eligible for a California medical license (or exemption for International Medical Graduates). Successful applicants will spend a portion of their time practicing clinical anesthesia.

The expected base pay range for this position is:
- Assistant Professor: $447,000–457,000
- Associate Professor: $471,000–$481,000
- Professor: $494,000–$515,000
This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
