The Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the junior level (Assistant or untenured Associate Professor). We invite applications from individuals working at the frontiers of electrical and computer engineering, broadly defined. While we give highest priority to the overall originality and promise of the candidate's work, particular areas of interest in this search include research that combines information sciences and physical devices to drive new applications. Please visit our website for more information about the EE Department at https://ee.stanford.edu.

Applicants must have completed, or be completing, a Ph.D. in the advertised field or a closely related one. Evidence of the ability to pursue a program of research, and a strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching are also required. A successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels and to build and lead a team of graduate students in PhD research.

Applications should include a resume, brief statements of research and teaching interests (3-5 pages total for both combined), and the names and e-mail addresses of 3-5 references. We will request letters of recommendation upon submission of the candidate’s application.

The Electrical Engineering Department, School of Engineering, and Stanford University value faculty who will help foster an open and respectful academic environment for colleagues, students, and staff with a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives. Candidates may choose to include as part of their research and teaching statements a brief discussion about how their work and experience will further these values.

Applications will be accepted until 11:59PM on Sunday, December 13, 2026.

Interviews may begin in the fall term. Applicants are encouraged to apply early.
