The Division of General Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine/ Stanford Medicine Children’s Health is recruiting a board-certified pediatrician with a focus on newborn care to join us as a Clinical Instructor or Clinical Assistant Professor in the Clinician Educator Line. The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

 

Academic rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

 

Responsibilities of this 60% effort position will include weekday and weekend direct patient care of newborns, as well as teaching of medical students and pediatric residents. For qualified candidates, opportunities are available to participate in scholarship, quality improvement, and development of innovative care programs. Faculty will work in the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford (LPCHS).

The successful candidate must have an MD or equivalent, board certification in pediatrics, eligibility for a California medical license, and experience in the care of term newborns. Proficiency in neonatal circumcision, neonatal frenotomy, lactation counseling, and the ability to communicate well and work cooperatively within a large team of health-care providers is highly desirable. Proficiency in Spanish language is preferred, but not required.

The expected base pay range for this position is:

Clinical Instructor: $168K- $172K

Clinical Assistant: $198K- $210K

 

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs. Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including equivalent years in rank, training, and field or discipline; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
