The Division of Critical Care in the Department of Pediatrics at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital/Stanford University School of Medicine is recruiting a Clinician Educator as a Clinical Assistant, Clinical Associate, or Clinical Professor to serve as Medical Director at an offsite, community-hospital based Pediatric Intensive Care Unit located in the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, CA. The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

 

Academic rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing direct patient care in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
  • Contributing to teaching, research, and administrative duties

To be successful in this position, you will bring:

  • An MD/DO degree and Board Certification in Pediatrics, and either Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and a California Medical License by the time of hire

The candidate will be appointed at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank in the Clinical Educator Line. The Clinical Educator role is defined by engagement in clinical care and teaching that advances clinical medicine. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a strong background in providing care in a community-based hospital and have experience in hospital administration and leadership.

The expected base pay range for this position is:

Critical Care:

Assistant Professor: $270K – $288K

Associate Professor: $293K – $311K

Professor: $331K – $391K

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It may not include all components of faculty compensation or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs. Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including equivalent years in rank, training, and field or discipline; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
