Assistant Professor in Biochemistry, Molecular or Cell Biology

The Department of Biology at Stanford University is searching for a tenure-track Assistant Professor working broadly in the field of biochemistry, molecular or cell biology. A successful candidate would ask fundamental, mechanistic questions related to the structure, function and/or dynamics of molecular complexes, organelles, and cells and/or multicellular processes. Candidates that also demonstrate a commitment to teaching and mentoring a broadly diverse undergraduate and graduate student body will be of particular interest. The successful candidate will be a member of the Cell, Molecular, and Organismal group within the Biology Department. Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. by the time of appointment.

Applicants should submit:  (1) a statement (not to exceed 3 pages) that describes the applicant’s (a) prior and current research and their vision and plans for future research, and (b) teaching and mentorship philosophy, approach, and experience; (e.g. “A maximum of 3 pages is allowed for this document, which should include both the research and teaching statement. Do NOT submit separate documents for research and teaching.”). (2) a statement (not to exceed 1 page) that describes the applicant’s commitment to and experience in promoting diversity, equity, and justice; (3) a cover letter; (4) a curriculum vitae including publication list; and (5) three letters of recommendation.

Interested candidates should apply by October 31, 2022, for full consideration.  Applications will continue to be accepted until the position is filled. The appointment will begin September 1, 2023.
